O PLATZ TURNS 10

Oranienplatz, Kreuzberg, Oranien Platz, Berlin, Germany

Check out the exciting jam-packed programme of events at OPlatz (Oranienplatz in Berlin Kreuzberg) from October 5th (Wednesday) to 9th (Sunday) – featuring many of our friends and members of BIPoC Ukraine community – marking the 10 years of when OPlatz was occupied by the Refugee Resistance Movement as an act of resistance, demanding an end to the neocolonial, dehumanising, oppressive, racist treatment of refugees/asylum seekers in Germany. We are coming together to celebrate the achievements and legacy of this historic movement, reflect on the present situation, learn from each other and grow, and plan the future. This is a joint struggle against neocolonial racist oppression and for equal rights for ALL refugees/migrants. Throughout these 5 days at OPlatz, many important groups and activists – from grassroots BIPoC intersectional feminist anti-colonial anti-racist abolitionist struggles – are offering panel discussions, workshops, activities – and MANY amazing live music performances by brilliant musicians. 📢We would like to highlight the panel on Thursday 6th, 2–4pm, on War&Asylum, featuring several of our community members who will talk about their lived experiences as BIPoC refugees from Ukraine and share their analyses in the context of the refugee resistance movement in Germany. 🔥On Thursday 6th, 6–7 PM, the mighty ✨ANGELA DAVIS✨ – vocal supporter of the refugee resistance movement in Germany for years – will give a lecture. OPlatz lives! The struggle continues! We are many.

WeAreHere and #WeWillFight #FreedomOfMovement is everybody’s right!
